Depending on the flavor of the SCSI port, you can connect from 7 to 15 peripheral devices to each port. The first device is connected to the port. The second device is connected to the first device. The third device is connected to the second device, and so on. This single "line" of peripheral devices is called a daisy chain.
SCSI ports can generally be used for CD-ROM, hard, and tape, drives, as well as scanners.
